Blue is a such a relaxing color, especially a pale violet-hued blue like this large Indian-paisley wallpaper by Cole & Son. So how perfect is this color in a peaceful bedroom like this?! The Malabar wallpaper collection has a wonderfully detailed pattern.  The blue and lavender tones are emphasized with silvery blue Indian silk curtains and a custom headboard upholstered with blue fabric and white piping. The wallpaper was carried over to the ensuite, and I do love that it is only carried from the wainscoting and up, the white paint and plumbing fixtures give this bathroom a clean fresh look. This soft-on-the-eyes feature is from the April 2006 Style at Home.

Fortuny Lamps

I don’t believe I have seen this exact lighting fixture in an application I haven’t loved.  The Fortuny Ceiling Light is the gorgeous design by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo, and it is available in a number of sizes, colors and patterns.  The larger sizes make the best statement and they never look out of place over a dining room table.  Sophistication, refined techniques, a high quality finish and attention to detail are the distinctive features of each original lamp.

I am super impressed with the boutique water works streaming out of Kohler these days! With pivoting joints and ultimate flexibility, the Karbon kitchen faucet is an innovative product to say the least.  If you have a contemporary style in your home, this would be the perfect faucet for you. The turning joints allow you to position the faucet in any way you wish, even tucked down and out of the way in a compact position if you wish.  Another great design by Kohler, but what else would you expect?

A Gem of a Dining Room

The unexpected colors in this dining room make it just delicious!  The lined silk draperies in coral and a shimmering pale blue-green add a luxurious sheen against the pale walls, but the most gorgeous item in this room however is the Biarritz Chandelier by Niermann Weeks. Like a jeweled flower, the petals delicately furl down, dipped in Mecca Silver finish and droplets of crystals toward the dining room table.

I love reading articles of small spaces and seeing the beauty that can be achieved in living spaces that force us to strip back to our favorites and our necessities, to simplify.  I think that is my favorite word: simplify.  Spring reminds me of that, through Spring cleaning and going through drawers of stuff I forgot I had.
