The designers at Novanni have produced an entertaining and useful take on the kitchen sink with this gem. The Avado (EFT402211) stainless steel top mount sink has a super long shallow basin that empties below into an extremely large bowl below. Grandma's caserole dish could get lost in there! And how fun is the drain tray? Look out though; a minimum cabinet size of 45" is required!

Novanni has some great add don accessories for most of their kitchen sinks as well like the the Removable Dish Rack (LKWRB1316SS), or the Hardwood Chopping Board with 5" Stainless Steel Mesh Removable Strainer (CBS1316).

Meanwhile, Franke Sinks have also upped the ante with this hard working Cullinary Work Center Sink (CWX161-D)! This sink mean serious business when it comes to all of your possible sink needs. Included with this sink are accessories like a measuring bowl, steel colander, and tempered glass cutting board, but there are so many other accessories available like higher and lower steel grids and more. |

Prep sinks just make sense. A larger kitchen with an island often call for additional access to plumbing so you can easily prep your next meal. The Crevasse Prep Sink by Kohler is a wonderful choice; at just 8 1/8" total width, it doesn't take up much space! Now the first thing I thought of when I saw this sink was: where is the faucet? Don't they usually display an accompanying bar faucet so we can visualize using it? Oh but they are!

Now look at that, not only does the sink use less space horizontally, but vertically as well! It is fully equipped with Cychronus Rinsing Technology that streams water from one end of the trough style prep sink to the drain on the lower end (which connects to garbage disposals for ridding of prep and food refuse). At just the touch of an inventive little button, well done Kohler. |

This well balanced kitchen by Caroline Decesare is quite thoughtful in its design. The first thing I notice is the strong look of the coffered ceilings, and wonderfully, the pendant light fixtures are spaced on four corners that place them directly over their respective island task areas. The double islands allow the chef to prepare and entertain easily with a prep sink at the outer-most island, which has seating for guests. They can probably join in helping prepare meals without getting underfoot. The larger sink is located in the heart of the kitchen, so dishes are not on the "entertaining island". Well done. |

Designer Cynthia Leibrock has spent three years renovating Green Mountain Ranch to be a universally designed home they can live in for the rest of their lives. It is a beautiful home that marries function and gorgeous aesthetics in the best design relationship I have seen. The kitchen is another great example of accessibility and looks. There are few upper cabinets, but the lowers are made of Santos Rosewood and that veneer has been carried up to the ceiling to continue the look of the interesting grains of the wood. What I love the most about this kitchen is the Timpani Vessel Lavatory Sink by Kohler that sits on the antimicrobial countertop. Usually used in bathrooms, this sink becomes a fun prep sink for guests to use if they are helping out without getting in the way of the hostess. Bowls on counters as a accent are common, but this is a new twist that will get plenty of use.
The Timpani Vessel Sink is made of stainless steel as does most kitchen sinks, so why not? I could see it filled with ice and cooled drinks for a party, or just on its' own, showing off its' broad brim and that gorgeous satin finish.
