I finally found a set of reading chairs for our office after much searching, but they were so unique I had a hard time deliberating what ottoman to get. That was when I remembered tree stump tables. Of course! Distinctive on their own and very fashionable, the tree stump end table was a perfect solution. All that was required was to select a marbling wood that complemented the frame of the chairs. There are so many reasons to love them; many artists leave the natural edges and burls leaving a gorgeous top and side graining, most are from reclaimed wood so they are a "green" product, not one is the same as another. Picking one out is much like selecting a piece of art, and then once you bring it home, positioning it can be fun since no side is the same either. And substantial! We are talking about a massive hunk of wood here. Either way whatever way you select a table, be it teak root, or ebony stained, there is certainly one for your space.

Esquire's most recent Ultimate Bachelor Pad is now unveiled in SoHo and is it ever dressed to impress. In the main area you'll find the Cuelight Pool Table by Obscura Digital. Special sensors track the movement of the billiard balls below, the sensors then activate the projector above that creates the illusions you see. You can customize the reactions to look like water, streaks of lights, or make movement reveal an image. Obscure digital is known for their inovative creations that help companies advertise in new and different ways, that is how this works so well for Esquire, just pop a picture in of the latest cover. iJustine toured the Esquire SoHo house (check out the amazing black glossy ceiling at 2:56 on her video) and featured this pool table. The Cuelight projector can be installed over an existing pool table, you just need a place above to mount it. You know, I could totally see Google picking up acouple of these for their staff.

The white painted display table with two gold bases featuring a pair of addorsed dolphins is beautiful and has alot of history. This is no doubt a replica. Dolphins in design are quite ancient and can be dated back to the days of Greek mythology. The dolphins are symbolic to Neptune and Venus and were carved into friezes at the Temple of Neptune.
Andrea Palladio recorded the design found in fragments of the temple in his book The Four Books on Architecture published in Venice in 1570 (since rewritten). This motif became popular again in the late seventeenth and eighteenth century, during this time in England William Kent made the dolphins a signature of his. Above is an antique English Giltwood Dolphin Console from that period.
Oscar de la Renta has a table identicalto this in his Dominican abode. The outdoor dining table with dolphin base is made of cast resin and stone. The antique dolphin motif is a very glamorous timeless design.
