I love the feathered quill design on this hansome flatware design, even though I have a hard time thinking about the term feathered in a positive way now (I was the feathered hair child of the 80's for a long time). Pottery Barn's own very own design is a great transitional flatware that can go from casual to glamorous depending on the dressed table.
The Quill Flatware settings were even featured this morning at Pioneer Woman's site where she mixed and matched different pieces from Pottery Barn like "Horn" and "Petiole" to get a fun mismatched look.

Designer Cynthia Leibrock has spent three years renovating Green Mountain Ranch to be a universally designed home they can live in for the rest of their lives. It is a beautiful home that marries function and gorgeous aesthetics in the best design relationship I have seen. The kitchen is another great example of accessibility and looks. There are few upper cabinets, but the lowers are made of Santos Rosewood and that veneer has been carried up to the ceiling to continue the look of the interesting grains of the wood. What I love the most about this kitchen is the Timpani Vessel Lavatory Sink by Kohler that sits on the antimicrobial countertop. Usually used in bathrooms, this sink becomes a fun prep sink for guests to use if they are helping out without getting in the way of the hostess. Bowls on counters as a accent are common, but this is a new twist that will get plenty of use.
The Timpani Vessel Sink is made of stainless steel as does most kitchen sinks, so why not? I could see it filled with ice and cooled drinks for a party, or just on its' own, showing off its' broad brim and that gorgeous satin finish.

Haute Surface Cork Tiles in Houndstooth is a delicious blend of the classic houndstooth pattern in chocolate and natural colored cork. Pop the pieces together to puzzle a surface large enough to set a casserole dish or copper pot. The interlocking cork tiles come in a set of 12 for $20.

I am not sure what it is about the fun and colorful Fiesta dinnerware that has me so enamored, but I find it irrisistable, and I am slowly building my collection. New to the Fiesta family is the color Lemongrass. It seems that the punchier-than-celadon green is gearing towards the younger crowd that is new to Fiesta, and sure to be future devotees joining in with the large population of longtime patrons to the USA made brand. Lemongrass is now available in stores.
In October 2008, the delicious Chocolate color was introduced with much positive feedback. An earthy tone to be paired with some of the other colors was very welcome! What is so great about the fiesta line is that you can get a couple peices of dinnerware in complementing tones and change them up to match your dinner theme, season, or even new napkins.
Here is a great example of pairing colors of the Fiesta line together, the ivory, cobalt, peacock and chocolate go great together. It works so well since there isn't a flurry of patterns to be reckoned with, just bold, rich colors on a thick, well weighted plate.
