While you patiently wait for the rain to wash away the remaining snow, get inspired by these little droplets. The glass raindrops from Smith and Hawken would be a sweet addition to a Spring time soirée, gleaming in candle or sunlight. These 1” long pendants come in a set of 24.

The technology of today's innovative televisions are becoming more fabulous by the minute. Can you ask more from your plasma television than a pin-clear wide screen image? Apparently you can, how about a hidden television? Perfectly disguised as a mirror, the television screen can only be seen when the television is turned on. You can also purchase special mirror glass to fit over your television that will work in the same way.

Pressed metal ceilings or tin ceilings were popular from the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century as an affordable alternative to expensive, artistic plaster. Tin-plated steel was pressed with embossed designs similar to the costly sculptured plaster, yet tin ceiling panels could be massed produced at a fraction of the cost. You can still get fabulous ornate designs in a tin tile, or if you really want to impress, see nationally recognized Joshua & Co. for simply incredible plaster-ceilings by true artisans.

I have never been a fussy fuss-fuss when it comes to door hardware, as long as the metals coordinate with the theme of the home, and has a good shape so it blends in nicely. But who said door hardware should always be seen and not heard? The Nouveau Metal Door Lever in Butler Silver finish would be a standout, proclaiming “Style lives here”! I really have a feeling that an Art Nouveau revival is coming back, with a vengeance- a sweet and fantastical vengeance. Sherle Wagner has some fabulous designs and uncompromised, stand alone quality. If the dips and dives of the leaf motif on this door lever doesn’t suit your abode, another great favorite of mine is the Black Onyx Knurled Door Knob. |

A great part about designing/ furnishing/ planning a home or space is that it touches so many parts of you. Textures make your senses tingle, light and colors are a treat for your eyes, so why not remember to impress that all important other sensory preceptor? Did you know that smell is linked the closest to your memory, more than any other sense? For a truly delightful note, dip into the sweet and unpredictable Red Chérie by Thymes. This truly original scent is available in candles, home fragrance mist, bar soaps, body lotion, bath salts, and more! I tried the moisturizer today and I felt like I could have dined on a thick slice of cherry pie with a warm flaky crust and a dollop of ice-cream all day. It wasn't too sweet like some wince-worthy sugary-cupcake fragrances can be, but subtle and flirty. Yes, I think I am addicted, and it is a beautiful attraction! |
